For most of us, our mind is what we perceive the world and ourselves through. This has become such a normal state that we don’t know or can imagine anything else. Your mind is a filter of perspective and meaning. Through it, you think about and interpret the world and believe that this IS the world, rather than having the direct experience of the world through your senses – or a layer deeper, as awareness itself.
It might seem like an impossible task to start experiencing with a deeper sense of yourself, but it is simply a matter of practice. You experience through the mind because you’ve been practicing that A LOT throughout your life. To experience awareness as awareness itself, you need to start directing your attention there. That you’re not yet having that experience, doesn’t say anything about your capacity to do so.
In session #10 with Tina, we explore what experiencing through your head vs experiencing through being feel like, which opens up a profound direct experience in Tina. We end the session with ways to remind yourself to practice being present in your body, so it can become the new normal.
