When you set out on your healing journey, it’s common that you start as a “fixer”. Meaning, as someone who wants you to feel better. While there’s nothing wrong with wanting to feel better, the motivation underneath is often fear. This part wants to “fix” the anxiety, because it can’t stand feeling it and what it thinks it means about you. This part has an idea of being healed as the absence of uncomfortable emotions, mind chatter, and old nervous system responses.
At a certain point on our journey, you’ll have to be willing to meet with that part. To hear it out and understand what it’s afraid of. To follow the thread and see what beliefs it’s operating from. So that you can start operating more from a truthful place.
“It’s when I’m okay with feeling all this, when I’m able to be with the truth of this moment – of what’s alive in me, that I’m truly free.”
Meeting with this protector part takes willingness and courage. That’s exactly what Tina is exploring in this week’s podcast episode. She also discovers a dynamic around this part, that sounds suspiciously a lot like her parents growing up. Listen for a deeper understanding of who’s driving you to do inner work, and how you can un-identify and start expanding from love.
