As a child, you are a bundle of flesh, feelings, sensations, nervous system, and reactions to impressions. You are a body more than a thinking mind. An intelligent fleshy and electric process, learning about itself and the world, forming a sense of I, through experience.
When later in life, you’re trying to undo some conditioning and heal wounds that were formed… and doing it from your thinking mind, you’re missing to connect with the body, where the pattern is held. As an authority, the mind attempts to tell the body how it should experience things. Which usually just adds layers of judgment and shame when the pattern shows up.
To heal and shift a pattern, you need to drop into the places where it’s alive. Your body, your emotions, your nervous system, and connect with them through loving awareness.
In session #7 with Tina, we explore her systems impulse to withdraw and contract around the feeling of sadness. Through a felt sense, we invite movement and freedom around the sadness so that her whole system receives the signal that sadness is okay.
It’s not the feeling itself that is ever dangerous, but the association made with the feeling by your mind. When you feel unsafe to feel an emotion, it’s because you experience through the system of protection around the feeling and the story it’s telling about it.
This episode shows you how to drop into your own body and shift your conditioning through embodied self mastery.
